Katya (Yekaterina) Kukhto, MSW, LSWAIC
Katya is a Licensed Social Work Associate who works with teenagers and adults. She emphasizes empathy, respect and a genuine therapeutic connection in her practice and believes that clients are the experts of their own lives. Her collaborative approach honors each client's unique perspectives and experiences, while helping them develop new insights and tools to navigate challenges, create meaningful change and achieve their goals.
Incorporating a trauma-informed perspective, Katya is attuned to the impact that past experiences can have on the present and aims to provide a safe, non-judgmental and affirming space. Katya provides clients the opportunity to process past experiences, rebuild a sense of safety and gain a renewed sense of empowerment and self-agency.
Katya's theoretical orientation is person-centered, trauma-informed and integrative. She utilizes techniques from Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness to meet each client's unique needs and goals.
