Tara Yarte, MS, LMHC

Tara is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing therapy for children, adolescents, adults, families and couples. She will help you find solutions by recognizing your strengths and resources. She knows that emotional, behavioral and relationship challenges are similar to physical challenges — all occasionally requiring professional support for healing. Tara believes that anyone is capable of making changes and provides a non-judgmental, respectful and compassionate place to work through your concerns.

Tara is strength based in her approach and draws on several theoretical orientations, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment theory, narrative therapy and solution focused approaches. You can expect Tara to be both straightforward and gentle in her approach. She will tailor her therapeutic processes to your specific needs.

Tara’s areas of specialty include:

  • Children and adolescents
  • Military families
  • Family issues/parenting
  • Adults, especially women, experiencing life transitions
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Trauma related disorders and challenges
  • Early childhood neglect

Tara believes that our life challenges serve us in some ways that aren’t always clear at the time. She will work with you to get through these challenges and listen closely for the learning and growth available within them.
