Thomas Stensland (He/Him/His) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working with adolescents, adults, and older adults in individual, family, and couple’s settings. Thomas enthusiastically works with clients from diverse backgrounds and welcomes clients from all walks of life. Thomas’s practical and philosophical approaches are rooted in psychodynamic, family systems, and cognitive behavioral schools of thought. Thomas recognizes that every individual is unique, and each client will need a unique approach for therapy to be successful.

Thomas has worked in the mental health field for over 10 years, helping clients in hospital, community mental health, and non-profit settings. Thomas provides a safe space for clients to understand their feelings better, improve their ability to communicate (with themselves and others), and learn the coping skills that will help them reach their goals. Thomas is particularly interested in working with clients from marginalized populations that are in need of a safe place to be seen and heard. Thomas believes that therapy is a space in which people are able to express themselves honestly, find out more about their personal core, and move forward in ways that are best for them.
